Fifty Years of Making. A Future Passed Forward

For fifty years, Eric Lansdown has created architectural dollhouses and aviaries by hand. Today, from his studio in Gabian in southern France, he is passing his art, techniques and working archive to a new generation of artists and craftspeople.

In November, Lansdown Arts will exhibit in the United Kingdom for the first time at the KDF Christmas Show in London. At the centre of the 2026 collection is Lady Admiral’s Château—a vision of the Loire Valley eight years in the making.

Where Heritage Becomes a World

Handmade in southern France, each one-of-a-kind dollhouse, aviary and architectural world bears its own story of a craft being passed from master to apprentice. It embodies its own interpretation of an architectural history and traditional art style, and it leaves room within to collect or create stories of your own and pass them forward, from one generation to the next. Multiple lineages, continued through a single miniature world.

The Studio

Lansdown Arts is the life’s work of Eric Lansdown; an artist, craftsman and maker of architectural worlds. For more than fifty years, from floating studio to medieval bishops hall each piece has been shaped by hand, guided by historical architecture and made to outlive its maker.
