Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern enquiries, commissions and acquisitions made through Lansdown Arts and the website lansdownartsfrance.com.
1. The Studio
Lansdown Arts operates from Gabian, France.
Seller’s legal name: Eric Lansdown
Business address: 12 Rue de l'Evêché, Gabian 34320
Email: ericbiere@yahoo.com
Business registration number: 94115430400013
VAT number: FR19941154304
2. Works and Availability
Lansdown Arts creates one-of-a-kind architectural dollhouses, aviaries, decorative birdcages and commissioned works. Because each piece is individually made, availability is subject to confirmation by the studio.
Photographs and descriptions are provided as accurately as possible. Variations, irregularities and traces of handwork are inherent to handmade and historic works and are not considered defects.
3. Enquiries and Orders
Submitting an enquiry does not create a binding order or reserve a work.
Following an enquiry, Lansdown Arts will confirm availability, price, delivery arrangements and any other relevant details. An order becomes binding only when the client accepts the written order summary and the required payment has been received.
4. Prices and Payment
Prices are stated in euros unless otherwise agreed. Delivery, specialist packing, installation, insurance, customs duties and import taxes are not included unless expressly stated.
Before payment, the studio will provide an order summary showing the work, price and agreed charges. Payment will be made through the secure method or payment link provided by Lansdown Arts.
For commissions, a non-refundable deposit may be required before work begins. The amount, payment schedule and remaining balance will be confirmed in writing.
5. Commissions
Commissioned works are developed through direct consultation. The agreed design, dimensions, materials, price and estimated schedule will be recorded in writing.
Because commissioned and personalized works are made to the client’s specifications, they cannot normally be cancelled or returned once production has begun, except where required by law.
Any alteration requested after approval may affect the price and completion date.
6. Delivery
Packing and delivery are arranged individually according to the work’s size, value, destination and installation requirements. Any delivery estimate is provided in good faith but is not guaranteed unless expressly agreed in writing.
The client is responsible for providing complete and accurate delivery information and for disclosing access restrictions before arrangements are finalized.
International clients are responsible for applicable import duties, customs charges and local taxes unless otherwise agreed.
7. Inspection and Damage
The client should inspect the work promptly upon delivery. Any visible damage should be reported to Lansdown Arts within 48 hours, with photographs of the work, packaging and damage.
The client should retain all packaging while a delivery claim is being reviewed and must not return a work without written authorization.
8. Right of Withdrawal
Where a statutory right of withdrawal applies to a distance sale, an eligible consumer may withdraw within 14 days of receiving the work, without giving a reason.
The client must notify Lansdown Arts clearly within that period. Unless otherwise agreed, the client is responsible for the cost and safe return of the work using suitable specialist packing and insured transport.
The right of withdrawal does not apply to works made to the client’s specifications or clearly personalized, subject to applicable law.
9. Intellectual Property
All designs, drawings, photographs, text and other creative material remain the intellectual property of Lansdown Arts or their respective rights holders.
Acquiring a work does not transfer reproduction, commercial-use or publication rights. No website content or imagery may be reproduced commercially without prior written permission.
10. Care and Alteration
The client is responsible for following any care, handling, display or installation guidance supplied by the studio. Lansdown Arts is not responsible for damage caused by improper handling, unsuitable environmental conditions, unauthorized repairs, alteration or ordinary ageing.
11. Legal Guarantees
Nothing in these Terms limits the client’s mandatory rights, including applicable legal guarantees relating to conformity and hidden defects.
12. Privacy
Personal information submitted through the website or during an enquiry is handled according to the Lansdown Arts Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection law.
13. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by French law, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections available under the law of their country of residence.
Clients are encouraged to contact Lansdown Arts first so that any concern may be resolved directly.
